Academic Council
The Academic Council of the Khujand
Polytechnic Institute of the Tajik Technical University named after Academician
M.S. Osimi is the
highest governing body of the Institute and is established for the purpose of
addressing key issues related to its activities.
The Regulations of
the Academic Council are based on the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On
Education”, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Higher Professional
Education and Postgraduate Professional Education”, the Model Regulations on
Higher Professional Education Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan, the
Regulations on the Academic Council of a Higher Professional Education
Institution of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as other normative legal
acts in the field of education and science of the Republic of Tajikistan, and
operate in accordance with the Charter of the Institute.
The
Academic Council is established to review and ensure the timely resolution of
key issues related to educational, scientific and research activities,
production activities, construction, international cooperation, and the
economic and administrative operations of the Institute.
The
Academic Council of the Institute consists of the Chairperson (Director),
Deputy Directors, Deans of Faculties, Heads of structural divisions, Heads of
key departments, and other members of the academic and teaching staff. The
Chairperson of the Academic Council, the Director of the Institute, has the
right to change the number and composition of the members of the Academic
Council, when necessary, depending on operational needs. The direct
organization of the activities of the Academic Council is entrusted to the
Academic Secretary. The Director of the Institute appoints and dismisses the
Academic Secretary from among the members of the Academic Council. The main
form of activity of the Academic Council is its meetings.
Powers
of the Academic Council:
- exercising overall control over
the activities of the Institute’s staff and students in accordance with
the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Charter of the
Institute;
- hearing and approving reports
of the Director, Deputy Directors, Heads of divisions, and other
responsible officials;
- considering key issues of the
economic and social development of the Institute;
- nominating academic staff for
honorary titles, awards, and prizes;
- approving regulations on
filling vacant academic and teaching positions;
addressing other issues within its competence as
stipulated by the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
