Achievements of the department
The scientific and research achievements of the department, which are directly related to the development of the national economy, are aimed at solving the problems of ensuring food security, that is, researching the technological processes of production, storage and processing of agricultural products. Scientists of the department conduct research on the analysis of food quality, the development of food production technologies, including functional ones, using local raw materials and modern equipment. For example, such studies include the development of a technology for the production of bread and confectionery products with high biological value, a method for the production and use of powder from local beetroot for the production of oriental sweets, a technology for the production of national cereal products (the production of pulp concentrate), methods for storing grapes in a gaseous environment using track membranes, as well as ready-made freezing depending on the type of irrigation and introduced in domestic production. The results of this research have been confirmed by the first domestic and international patents.
Another research carried out as part of the commissioned project is dedicated to livestock development, including yak breeding. It studied the age characteristics and morpho-physico-chemical changes of the skin of yaks of the Pomeranian ecotype, which are grown in the northern regions of Tajikistan. The results of this research are very important for the development of leather processing industry in the country.
During this period, one doctor's thesis was defended and 2 candidate's dissertations were prepared for defense in the specialty “Food technology”. In this scientific direction, 3 international conferences were held on the topic "Puzzles of sustainable development of food production in Central Asia" (years 2012, 2013, 2019). Here, the fruitful activity of eminent scientists such as D.B.S., Professor A.R. According to the project plan Tatiana Marchenko, Ruta Haloburda, Ani Blia (Latvia); Alvydas Charlauskas, Aleksanr Nvaoslavsky, Grajina Janusliavišice (Lithuania); Macei Chovaniak, Marcin Nemets, Dagmara K. (Poland), visited our institute and held classes with students on specialized subjects, such as microbiology, production of plant products, technology for the production of bread, confectionery and bakery products, etc. according to the international standards of ISO, HACCP and Global GAP.
Laboratory base of the department
With the initiative of the director of KPITTU named after akademician M. Osimi, Saidi Dilafruz Rabbizoda, a new educational building was built, consisting of laboratory facilities. Its grand opening was held with the participation of the representatives of the Government of the Republic, the Ministry of Education and Science of the country and the Chairman of the Sughd Region Rajabboy Ahmadzoda.
